Description

A rare opportunity for serious shark keepers. This is an XXL adult female Northern Wobbegong (Orectolobus wardi) — fully grown, eating, and ready for placement in an established large-volume marine system. Wobbegongs of this size and sex rarely come available in the US livestock trade, and this animal is offered local pickup only from our Taylor Mill, KY store, just south of Cincinnati.

Why a Northern Wobbegong?

The Northern Wobbegong is one of the few shark species genuinely well-suited to large home aquariums. Unlike most sharks in the trade, O. wardi tops out around 24–30 inches as an adult, making it one of the smallest members of the carpet shark family. They're nocturnal ambush predators — flat-bodied, beautifully camouflaged with dark saddle markings and ornate dermal lobes around the head, and almost entirely sedentary during daylight hours. For the right keeper with the right system, a wobbegong is a centerpiece animal you'll never lose interest in.
